nYOI Energy Arbiter

Decides locally. Keeps the data home.

A sub-10 W ARM64 edge appliance running ANEMOD’s energy arbitration engine. It reads and actuates residential PV, batteries, EV chargers and HVAC in real time — sovereign, offline-capable and secure by design.

nYOI Energy Arbiter
Overview

The nYOI Energy Arbiter brings energy intelligence to the place where the data is produced: the household, the building, the local energy community. Instead of streaming raw load curves to a cloud EMS, the appliance ingests asset telemetry over Modbus and MQTT-TLS, harmonizes it to open semantic models (SAREF4ENER, IEC 61968/61970 CIM) and runs ANEMOD’s arbitration engine on-device with sub-100 ms inference and sub-1 s actuation.

Decisions balance three objectives the prosumer can weight — bill savings, comfort, grid-friendliness — under hard safety limits on battery, comfort and export. Appliances can join a federated learning loop so that policies improve across homes while raw data never leaves the site.

The hardware platform is a ruggedized, low-power ARM64 node with tri-band Wi-Fi 6E, 5G, dual gigabit Ethernet and PoE, operating from −40 °C to +85 °C. Three nodes have been in continuous service on ANEMOD’s RAI-6Green edge testbed since Q1 2026.
